In 2022 NECEC welcomed a new President in former Somerville, Mass. Mayor Joe Curtatone and moved to a new home at Greentown Labs. We championed vital, and in some cases historic, legislation across the Northeast, and saw our advocacy pay off as states made enormous investments in offshore wind infrastructure. We returned to live events with our signature Green Tie Gala in Boston and two major Strategic Partner Network summits in New York City. And we saw the climate economy reach whole new levels after the federal government passed the Inflation Reduction Action, putting $369 billion toward clean energy and climate tech initiatives.
Cleantech Open Northeast (CTONE), the northeast region of the nation’s largest cleantech startup accelerator, has welcomed 47 startups from across the northeast and around the globe into its 2023 cohort, NECEC announced today. Selected from a pool of 80 applicants, this year’s cohort is diverse, and extremely driven to commercialize high-impact solutions to improve the environment and combat climate change.

The winners were battery tech innovator HiT Nano of Bordentown, NJ; electric engine producer Kasava Engineering of Hamburg, Germany; green fertilizer developer NTP Technologies of Mystic, CT; and lightweight solar panel company Verde Technologies of Burlington, VT.
